Phyrra, the Matriarch

PERSONALITY
Phyrra has been defined by her role as a mother since what seems like forever. When it comes to those she cares for, she is patient and a good listener, but won't hesitate to dish out punishments to those out of line. She never does anything too harsh, she saves that for anything that would threaten her or hers. She puts the needs and safety of others before herself, and expects obedience and respect in return. She is strong and very intelligent. She can be quick to judge most of the time and trusts her gut instinct because it has saved her skin countless times in the past.

She does her best not to let any weakness show. How would others look up to her otherwise? She can be lazy at times though, and enjoys basking in the heat and the occasional leisurely flight. Most of the time she would just like a little peace and quiet, with those she loves of course.

Those who know her say she can get a bit scary in a fight. Phyrra is ruthless in battle when the situation calls for it. She relies on her superior strength to protect herself and others. She tends not to involve herself in any fights that won't directly affect her, or her friends and family.

-After the apocalypse-

Phyrra is angry, depressed, belligerent, and tired.

APPEARANCEPhyrra can seem quite intimidating at first, because of her powerful jaws and muscles.  As an older charizard, Phyrra's scales might not be as smooth and her movements may not be quite as quick as they once where, but her eyes are full of life. Several battle scars adorn her body, some of them very old. She would assure you that her opponents looked much worse. Her height and weight are average for a Charizard. Her resting expression always seems angry, especially when she's thinking about something. The flame on her tail burns as brightly as ever.  

HISTORY
Since Charmander are such popular pokemon to give to young trainers, it is rare to find a Charizard that has never had a human partner. Phyrra is one of those. The same cannot be said for most of her 16 children though, or even her mate. Humans managed to capture 10 of her little Charmanders over the years, either to give to young trainers or to add to their own team. This caused her to protect her remaining children even more fiercely, and to develop a very bad opinion of humans. The only thing stopping her from tracking down and taking back all of her children was the fact that most of them seemed to be happy with their humans, and she didn't want to take happiness away from them even though it might hurt her. It didn't take her very long to attack any trainers who got too close to her territory. Many tried to capture her, none succeeded. Eventually people where warned out of her area with posted signs.

There where four different fathers for her children, all of them where Charizards. She enjoyed the company of each one for a while, but eventually would drift apart. She was too much of a commitment. It didn't affect her very much. Her first priority would always be her children, and this wasn't uncommon for Charizards in the wild to leave each other like this.

When the blast hit, none of the 6 children left with her where left alive. Three Charmanders and three Charmelions where dead, and Phyrra was left wondering why she had survived. There was almost too much emotional pain for her to continue. Her only motivation now is to discover if any of her other children have survived. She will search the world if she has to. They could be anywhere.
