Asmodeus, Keeper of the Forest

PERSONALITY
Asmodeus is, as per her species and her own wishes, rather quiet and subtle about her moves until she finds herself in a predicament where her speed and stealth can no longer keep her out of a fight. She tends to keep to herself or at the very least is wary of everybody she happens across. Inside, Asmodeus would only like a companion that she could trust and who would help her in her quest to revitalize whatever flora she can in the ruined world, however with trust issues that spawned from a pre-apocalyptic lifetime of betrayal, it is hard to earn her full trust.

She does enjoy spying on others, either out of curiosity or out of concern, and slipping quick herbal remedies and trinkets here and there to those she thinks would be able to pay her back in favors in the future. She has no problem with friendly-looking pokemon, but is quite often too shifty to try to make friends.

APPEARANCE
Asmodeus is a little bit taller than the average Sceptile, but her agility in the trees is yet unrivaled. There are several faded scars along her back and shoulder region from her past trainers and battles, but one would have to be close to see them against her skin. Other than that, her body is virtually identical to any other Sceptile.

She always carries around a small backpack full of herbs, roots, berries, and seeds that she uses to collect and distribute around whatever land can support any kind of flora. Whatever isn’t used for planting is used to make herbal remedies, causing her to smell rather earthy and, upon occasion, strongly bitter, sweet, or both.

HISTORY
Asmodeus was a male trainer’s first pokemon back when she was a Treeko and as such, always strived to make her trainer proud, but never could achieve that goal. Her trainer had been upset from the start that he had just so happened to get a female instead of a male and the moment he got a new team together, he traded Asmodeus to a more experienced trainer.

At first, Asmodeus was upset at being traded, but soon grew fond of her new trainer who evolved her into a Grovyle. The fondness left quickly after she was traded again in favor of a Marshtomp. It took longer and longer for her to get used to her human trainers as she was repeatedly traded back and forth after that. Their insatiable desire to level her up and breed her at a daycare as quickly as possible only fed her mistrust. That said, she refused any ‘mate’ that was thrown at her upon her evolution to a Sceptile, and was quickly released in an old, dusty town.

From there she lived in a nearby route, scavenging berries and seeds and whatever droppings a picnicker might have left behind. She soon learned how to make herbal remedies after she saw trainers using herbs they had bought from a store in the town she was released in. The store owner was friendly enough and didn’t shoo the Sceptile away when she spied on the makings, studying what plants to use, and eventually figuring out the medicinal properties of the various plants.

That knowledge helped keep her alive during the apocalypse, though her developed wariness and distrust would prove to be a hindrance in making new relations. The apocalypse was a slight devastation for the Sceptile who survived primarily on what she could steal from humans, but her doubt in humans themselves left her with very few ties to those who the apocalypse took with it.
